The facilitator group are experts within their field, the NPQ seminars and conferences allow facilitators to share their expertise and build strong relationships with their cohorts.

My role as Deputy Head (Inclusion) at Allerton High School includes oversight of Behaviour and Culture, Safeguarding, Looked After Children and SEND. Inevitably this involves a lot of time talking to colleagues, parents, carers and students trying to meet the needs of individual students whilst maintaining high and consistent standards for the school. I have delivered NPQML and well as NPQLBC and find that the discussions between colleagues with different experiences are always fascinating.

I’m a Deputy Headteacher at Manor Wood Primary School where I lead Curriculum Development and Literacy and co-ordinate ECTs and mentor students undertaking Initial Teacher Training. I am also one of the facilitators for the LTSH where I deliver the NPQ in Leading Teaching (NPQLT) and have also completed my own NPQSL. I feel privileged to have fulfilled numerous middle and senior leadership positions within the GORSE academies trust where I have been fortunate to work alongside expert leaders whose central mission is to ensure that all children are provided with the opportunity to excel. Having been actively involved in whole school transformation, this is undoubtedly achieved by ensuring that teaching is excellent, behaviour standards are exemplary and that leadership on all levels is inspiring. Whilst working within GORSE, I have grown to recognise the value of organisations working collaboratively and this forms the solid foundations for my NPQSL seminars. Within my role as the NPQSL facilitator, I relish the opportunity to bring aspiring senior leaders from differing primary and secondary phases together allowing ideas and approaches to be shared by professionals, support to be sought and best practice to be disseminated.

I am privileged to be facilitating the NPQEL having successfully completed the NPQEL myself in 2022-23. The NPQEL course is one that is rightly challenging and provides extensive opportunity to debate and discuss school and trust practice. I have been a part of GORSE since its inception and have held a range of leadership roles during this time including as Principal of The Morley Academy, Executive Principal of 11-16 Education and, since July 2022, as Deputy Chief Executive Officer. I thoroughly enjoy working across the 3-19 age range and also working with GORSE SCITT, Leeds Teaching School Hub and external partners.
The opportunity to lead the NPQEL and work in partnership with key leaders is one which is to be cherished; there is no doubt in the power of collaboration in bringing about tangible benefits for young people and, ultimately, I am yet to meet an educational professional who does not come to work each day passionate about positively influencing the lives of all children, especially those whose lives are characterised by privation. This is something which has been characteristic of my leadership and was formally recognised in 2018 when I won the Pearson Teaching Award of Secondary Headteacher of the Year.

I am the CEO of Owlcotes Multi-Academy Trust and was Headteacher of Pudsey Primrose Hill Primary School from 2004 to 2023.
As a facilitator for the NPQH I work with new and aspiring Headteachers from a range of schools including Primary, Secondary and Specialist. The NPQH programme of conferences and seminars provide opportunities for professionals to share good practice, develop leadership skills and learn from each other.

I am now moving into my eighteenth year as a teacher having started my career as a Geography NQT at The Morley High School. Nowadays, I am a GORSE Partnership Director with responsibility for the Quality of Education across the trust. As well as working for GORSE SCITT as the Geography Subject Mentor, I also thoroughly enjoy working for Leeds Teaching School Hub for whom I facilitate the NPQSL programme. Working alongside colleagues who are moving into senior leadership, sharing experiences and working collaboratively with leaders from a range of phases is a part of my work that I relish.
